City Council shouldn’t be involved

July 24, 2006

Daily Cal article about the City Council needing to stay out of the ASUC drama.  It’s on the right track regarding the whole ordeal.  My head hurts, so I’m going to stop writing, but this article explains itself, so I think it’s ok that I leave you all to fend for yourselves on this one.

And props to the Daily Cal on updating the site today!!!

Which is worse- cheating and lying about it or enforcing the rules??

Waking up hungover to the Daily Cal this morning just makes my head hurt way more than it already does.

Anyways, in a letter to the editor, Mickey Klein claims that SA foes are threatening democracy.  I’m all for people having different views and allowing for open debate about them.  However, this whole "I have a friend in SA and they’re right and everyone else it just out to get them because they’re jealous, so NAH!" thing is getting really old.  I realize you guys are not going to see the reality of the situation because you believe that your friends have been wronged.  But for the love of God, you got nuttin other than your whole "SA is right because I say so!" defense.  I gotta give it to you guys though, you’re loyalty to friends is commendable.

The Daily Crap

July 21, 2006

Granted it is summer and people are busy pretending that they have lives and legitimate jobs, but WTF???  Why in the hell can’t the Daily Cal get it’s shit together with their website?  This truly baffles me because it’s not that fucking hard to update a website.  This inability to update the website is not because they are out pursuing stories that people actually care about or for that matter working hard enough to report anything accurately.  So, what are these dweebs doing all day after the paper goes to press??

I say this not because I hate The Daily Cal, but really just out of complete frustration.  Let’s be honest, our school’s newspaper sucks and in no way compliments the institution that it reports for.  It could be so much better.  I know that "could be so much better" is broad, so I’ll break it down into baby steps.  For now, let’s focus on keeping the website up, functioning and updated daily.  When I see this happen, I’ll break out some more baby steps for our challenged friends over at The Daily Cal.

Ahh, screw it.  It’s their problem that they look inept.  Besides it’s friday, and people shouldn’t have to be angry on Fridays and this is why it’s time for a midday boozed-out nap.
