FBWAW

July 28, 2006

this week there are two people who receive my coveted distinction of fbwaw.

The first goes to Karasek for her well prepared speech that was given during the city council meeting.  her responses to the questions that woz asks were the equivalent of a good ole smack in the face and boy did he ask for it.

the second goes to poor old woz himself.  after looking like such a needy jackass in public in front of not only his collegues, but also the citizens of berkeley, the students of cal and anyone else who reads local papers or watched the webcast a drink, or in his case maybe ten, are i’m sure, a much needed distraction.

1st Ever FBWAW (Read on, I’m too lazy to type it all out)

Since there’s not much to write about, I’ve decided to start something that will feature the actions of someone or something that is related to Cal each week.  I like to call this honor "The Free Beer Worthy Action of the Week".  I think this week’s selection explains itself.

Aaron Diek, a Junior at Cal, got arrested at an environmental protest on Monday.  The sign he was holding said "Save the Ozone" and he was apparently swinging it around as a motorist drove by.  He somehow managed to dent a hummer with his sign as the car was trying to drive around him.  Aaron then hopped on a bike to flee but was chased by the hummer.  But wait, it gets better.   One of his arrest charges is because he gave "false information".  I hope this means he stated his name as "Captain Ozone" or "Captain Planet".  Remember, Captain Planet??  He was that environmental superhero cartoon. Don’t lie, you know you watched and sang along with the song.

Rock on Aaron!!  Way to keep that Berkeley activism alive and well!

All that I have to say is shit like this needs to happen more often…
