I am not even going to mention the ridiculous EO's that Oren filed before he (partially) retracted his power grab (he still employed the physical space of the office throughout this mess).

Giancarlo, I hope you know there's a difference between starting a few vital things such as GOTV and UCSA Congress organizing (Alan and Jason were invited in on all the details, by the way) and writing emails that are signed as Jason Chu, ASUC EAVP. I should also add that Igor never used an official title when he was conducting his work. Let's just hope Jason picks up where he left off and that everything won't go downhill.

sorry for the personal attack. my point simply, was that people should have waited until the mess was over before assuming their positions. I think if Jason or any other SA exec started assuming the roles of the office, you would be making the same argument I am now.

Generally, though, the Senate will try to appoint people who won't do their job. Sometimes they get ambushed by a Mike Davis, though.

yeah. they just have no idea what they are getting into when appointed. it took me forever to convince the junior Justices that they were in for complete hell and that they had to take the duties very seriously. training people for this job is quite a challenge.

bobby, that's exactly what i'm doing, i am disagreeing. i would never ask them to resign. i just ask that people who take leadership positions make sure that they are up to the task at hand before they accept a position

Igor is the head of a student group (I think called ACCESS) which has a similar mission statement to the EAVP office. There's no reason a student group can't do the same things. And you know what, even if he was acting as EAVP, he technically had more standing to do that than Jason who was DISQUALIFIED during that month.

Igor originally placed the benefit of the doubt in Sharon, Jason, and Alan. They didn't do shit, and, had he not used up much of his savings account on Congress, there would not have been a delegation.

Oooh, I have insider info too. What the hell does that mean anyway? You're receiving partisan info from the external office because it's bitter that it just sits on its ass and lets other people do the job?

let's be honest people. Igor's an idiot. he pretended he was EAVP for a month and acted like he had the job 100%. which, of course, he didn't. (i'm not just talking trash either, i have insider info).
